In Level 5 of the Hacking game I decided to include very important step in all security assessments which is source code analysis. The main objective of the game remains the same which is third person shooter game and to kill as much as possible Enemy AI’s . Part of the challenge includes source code analysis challenge questions which the player has to answer after analyzing the source code of the challenge. The first part is easy which is answer what kind of code vulnerability exists in the source code and the second part of the challenge is to remediate or “Fix” the code by selecting and rearranging the lines of code. The reason I added this challenge is source code analysis plays a major part in Securing an application. I find it entertaining to study code vulnerabilities and remediation by playing these game. The Level is not complete and planning on adding more code challenges and game challenges to keep the player interested and make it also fun to study source code review.
